Jon Quast
Pastor/Elder

Jon grew up in a home where church attendance was highly prioritized. He was consequently very “churched” and well-versed in the Bible. But he hadn’t believed the Good News regarding Jesus. He wasn’t necessarily actively resisting the truth. Rather, he didn’t understand the Gospel. It was as if someone handed him a box of puzzle pieces but didn’t give him the box to know what the puzzle was supposed to look like.
At 19, that all changed — Jon read through the Bible and the pieces finally came together. He read John 1:29 about “the lamb who takes away the sin of the world” and realized that He needed to trust in what Jesus did on the cross. After believing the Good News, God almost immediately burdened him for the unreached around the world — for those without access to the Bible. This kicked off a long journey of becoming a missionary and eventually serving among the Nivacle people in Paraguay.

Jon grew up knowing the Bible but not understanding the big picture. And on the mission field, he saw first-hand the effects of not knowing God’s word. Therefore, he passionately desires for all people to understand the overarching story of Scripture so that they can be brought into right relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ.
Jon married his wife Jen in 2006 and they have four kids. In 2019, they moved back to the USA, which was followed by a move to Spring Hill, FL in 2021. They quickly joined Gateway Bible Church and the church recognized him as an elder in 2024. Shortly thereafter he began serving on staff as a part-time pastor. Jon is a licensed pastor with the Evangelical Free Church of America.
